“Logistic regression analysis showed six variables to be significantly
related to the receipt of Papanicolaou smears in accordance with current
recommendations: age, health insurance status, income, education, employment
status, and ethnicity. (With regards to ethnicity, Blacks ethnicity was
associated with an increased odds of obtaining a Pap smear—OR= 1.51,
95% CI= 1.02, 2.22)… Black women were more likely to have Papanicolaou
smears than were white and Hispanic women (87% vs. 78%, P<.05)”
